Who We Are
We are Reformed
Our theological heritage goes back to the Protestant Reformation of the 16th century, when Christians sought to recover the authority of Scripture and its message that salvation is by grace through faith in Christ. We therefore affirm that the Bible alone is our ultimate authority; that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone; and that everything we do is ultimately for the glory of God alone.
We are Evangelical
We believe that the good news of Jesus Christ is at the heart of the Christian faith. God has spoken to us definitively through his Son, Jesus Christ, who is God’s full and final revelation to us (Hebrews 1:1–4). We therefore seek to shape our beliefs and lives according to God’s Word rather than the changing opinions of our culture.
We are Anglican
Our theological heritage comes from the English Reformation. We hold to the 39 Articles as an excellent summary of the essential truths of the Bible, and are part of REACH SA, a family of churches committed to historic Reformed Anglican Christianity, with churches across sub-Saharan Africa. We are not in fellowship with Canterbury, which has drifted from historic Reformed Anglicanism.
