We really encourage our children to get to know Jesus for themselves.
We run age-specific Sunday school groups for children during both morning services (8;30am and 10am respectively). Our team of church family volunteers make every effort to teach the wonderful message of Jesus in an engaging and interactive way.
What are the age groups?
Hoppers (Toddler - Gr 3)
Explorers (Grade 4-9)
What activities are included?
Typically a session would include singing, games, activities, and crafts and designed to encourage our kids at Christ Church Hermanus to grow in their love and knowledge of Jesus and explore the truths of the Bible in a relaxed, fun environment .If you’re visiting, you’d be really welcome to join us! Obviously we have the Hoppers and the Explorers, so the activities would be structured around the different age groups.
What is the Purpose of Sunday School?
When most people are asked, “What is the most important thing children learn in Sunday school?” the answer is often “the Bible.” In Sunday school, children develop a Christian understanding of the purposes of Scripture. Through these experiences with the Bible in Sunday school, they learn to recognize God’s call to them.

Who leads the way?
Our team of volunteers, led by Amanda and Nicole are dedicated to keeping our children safe, engaged and focused on the teachings of Jesus. The team have an amazing opportunity to be a part of God’s exciting work happening in the hearts of our children and we are truly blessed to have them.
Where is the Sunday School held?
At Christ Church Hermanus, we have set a side a whole area for Sunday school. Situated in the back part of the church, we have multiple wooden cabins set aside for use in the school and includes a library, art classroom and more.
